Steals and Deals!

You know you have a problem when you’re swatch searching on Google Images, and you instantly recognize which swatch came from what blog just by the shape of the blogger’s lips. I’m a sad, sad person.

As for what prompted this particular swatch search, ULTA has scads of NYX on sale for 40% off.  Plus, if you order $25 worth of merch, you can mack a Bag o’ Samples for free — this is on top of the three (3) free samples you already get with each order, for a total of 15.  And because they’re just that damned crazy, you also get $3.50 off with any $10 purchase with coupon code 64485.  I know, right?  The sale and sample bag end on April 16th, so hop to it!

I’m considering this a birthday gift to me, from me.

A small warning on this, though… the cart can get a bit sketchy, trying to juggle all the different discounts that are going on. There were times during the checkout process when it was reporting that my order was $60+, but in the end, it DID go through with all the discounts taken off properly. Just make for absolute certain that your cart is reading the right amount before you submit your order.

Anyhoot, I found myself at my friendly 24-hour Rite Aid today. I didn’t see any sales that caught my eye in particular (however, if you’re into Wet n’ Wild, Rite Aid is running a 40% off sale!), I did find some groovy duds on clearance.

Erm… no. Cloves not included, obviously, as they are ILLEGAL BEAGLE since Obama gave goths the F-U. The Shea Butter Cream Bath ($2.99) and Yes to Carrots makeup removing cleanser ($4.99) were the sweet finds of the day. I’ve not tried either brand before, so I’ll have fun seeing if these were worth the chunk of pocket change I threw down.  If not, hey, they were half off.

Has anybody else macked some sweet deals lately?  Doesn’t have to be about body or face… just tell me all about ’em! 😀

It wasn’t on sale but I recently bought the Fox in a Box blushes from Hard Candy at Wal-Mart for $5 apiece. They are on par with the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Blocks for a fraction of the price and have excellent color payoff that lasts all day.

How are you liking the Yes to Carrots cleanser? I’ve been wanting to try some of the brand but have been reluctant to toss down the cash.

I’ve had my eyes on Hard Candy… I’ve heard that the cakes are rather brittle, though. Considering I drop things a lot, probably not a good idea 😛 But I’m interested to see how well the face primer works.

Still playing with the Yes to Carrots… can’t say as I’m too terribly impressed with it so far, sadly.

I snagged the Urban Decay on Hautelook, and that deal on ULTA as well. That deal, with all included perks, was pretty great, though most of the samples were nonsense. But I loaded up on NYX, which was amazing!
It’s been a month of great deals, though, as I also came across a half off coupon for all e.l.f. studio products. Stocked up on tons of their awesome brushes, at $1.50 a piece! And some odds and ends. I pretty much need to stop spending now. o_O

Some of the fragrance samples in that bag were really lovely. And who ain’t down with a free razor, eh?

It’s taken a lot of strength and resolve to not use that 50% off studio coupon. Especially since the stipple brush came back in stock.

True, some of the perfumes were awesome. My fiance and I argued over whether Marc Jacob’s Bang was for men or women, until I decided I didn’t care and was going to wear it anyways. I’m a sucker for peppery scents. But the rest I’ve gifted away, which isn’t the worst thing either. Definitely can’t argue with free, though.

The stipple brush was the selling point for me! I’ve always heard amazing things about it, and figured there’s probably not going to be a better deal. And, don’t mean to push, it’s totally worth the hype. The quality to price ratio of their brushes is unreasonably great. I can’t afford to have a full set of $24 dollar a piece brushes, and e.l.f offers a great alternative.

I’m curious, though, what is it you don’t like about the Yes to Carrots cleanser? I’ve been wanting to try their line for a while, but I’m very sensitive and cautious. No one has ever had a negative thing to say about it, and I knew there had to be something!
