Here’s a product that seems to have been making its rounds lately. I as first introduced to Sheer Cover through MyGlam, in the bag-that-(almost)-never-was. I managed to swap for it after I failed to receive my January Glam Bag. Then I received another from MyGlam as a “sorry for screwing up your January” gift. Yet another when my January bag finally arrived months late. Finally, I received a mini-version through Influenster. Something is telling me I should start talking about this product.
So, let’s talk.
Product Ordering
First and foremost, I cannot begin to tell you how much this product is, due to the fact that it is part of a Guthy-Renker subscription service. Ah, yes, like your Wen and your Proactive. For the low low price of x-amount of dollars, you get a thirty day supply! If you don’t like it, cancel anytime (in theory)! I have read many reviews about the ordering process going horribly wrong, and I have to say, the product delivery is total bollocks. I would not recommend getting caught up in this kind of service to anyone. Which creates a special sort of problem…
Application and Wear
The product itself is actually quite good. Prior to this, I had been bouncing from concealer to concealer, trying to find anything to cut the horrific bags under my eyes that were part of my winnings from the great genetic lottery. Every one I tried was either too dark, too dry, too waxy – never quite right. On a whim, I tried Sheer Cover under my eyes, and the difference was, in my opinion, very remarkable.
Nothing will ever nix the problem completely, short of totally restructuring my skull, but it did greatly reduce the red and purple hues that have plagued my under-eye since birth.
I do recommend using a brush with this concealer, as it is quite soft and smooth. Dab it under eyes or over blemishes, and tap with your finger to blend in. It does not take much working to blend out – since it is a very soft, creamy concealer, it melts into the skin easily. I also highly recommend setting this with a powder. It melts into the skin easily, but it can move easily, too.
Once applied and set, coverage will last all day to dry-to-normal skin. Wear time on oily skintypes may vary greatly.
Brass Tacks
I am not going to lie, I am quite smitten with this product. The darkest shade in the Light/Medium duo is perfect for all my needs, from covering blemishes and under-eye circles. I am very glad that chance found me with multiples of this product, though, because I am quite confident that I will never order this product from Guthy-Renker. I am just not down with the selling method, nor am I up to the task of fighting with my bank to cancel payments when GR refuses to honor a subscription cancellation. Luckily, the concealer itself has made its rounds, and there are probably quite a few Light/Medium duos available on such outlets as MakeupAlley and eBay. Until such a time when Sheer Cover products are available for individual, independent sale, this is the only means by which I would recommend acquiring this concealer.

This product was both purchased through a monthly sample subscription, and sent free for consideration by Guthy-Renker through Influenster.com. All opinions are my own.
