The purpose of this blog is primarily for my own entertainment, with the added benefit of entertaining and informing others. Subject matter covered by this blog will vary according to post date: earlier posts are almost exclusively about my life and thoughts on the my world, while later and current posts revolve around beauty and makeup. Other subjects touched upon may include, but are by no means limited to music, film, and current events.

The mission of glostix and its author is quite simple: Do Not Say Stupid Things. I may not say particularly smart things, but I do value honesty, integrity, and above all else, fair treatment of the English language.

My current state of living is in a modest 792 sq ft apartment with my live-action lovedoll, also known as a ‘boyfriend’, or ‘guy who buys me pretty things to make up for biting my neck so much’. Between biting and gift receiving, I attend University full time as a Psychology major.  In other words, I look forward to having a life with a load of student loan debt, and not enough income to pay it off.  Altruism FTL.

I’m passionate about a great many things. Spiritualism takes top rank. I enjoy thinking on man, God, human nature, suffering, bliss, love, and all that confusing rot. My personal belief system is a strange mix of Christianity, Paganism and Buddhism, which seems to throw people for a giant loop most of the time. It makes sense to me, though. I’m ever a student and a guide, and a proud witch to boot (trained in the Correllian Nativist tradition).

Music is another one of my passions. I enjoy a wide variety of music, from bluegrass to industrial, classical to synthpop, and everything in between. With the exception of rap and jazz. I just can’t seem to get into that. I do not make music myself, as I have no instrumental talent, but I do sing. A lot. In my own time, for my own pleasure.

Of course, I have my passion in the romantic sense — I am totally devoted to and butt-crazy face-first in love with my amazing boyfriend, and I daresay soulmate, Kevin. Never in a million years did I expect to find someone just as silly, twisted, and half-cracked as I am… but Fate saw fit to cross our paths and it’s been a firestorm of doom and terror ever since. His love is better than caffeine, I tell you what.

More things I rather enjoy are reading nonfiction and fiction across genres, traveling back to the ol’ hometown to visit my parents and cats as much as possible, researching medical oddities and abnormal psychology, and dabbling in beauty.
