    Indie Brands

    Antoinette’s Revolution Cosmetics ( review | shop )
Antoinette’s Revolution offers an excellent selection of colours which are rich and highly pigmented. Shades such as Von Fersen and La Fontaine are stash staples. However, I found the eyeshadow formula to be dry at best, chalky at worst. I would not recommend this company at this time.
UPDATE: Both the artfire and independent webstore are down, and people on the Facebook fanpage are reporting orders not being fulfilled, and rejected Paypal claims due to insufficient funds.

    Concrete Minerals ( review | shop )
Concrete Minerals are pricey on the surface, but you get a lot of product for the price. The loose shadows are smooth and easy to blend, with no lossy colour. Beautifully, professionally packaged. I would highly recommend this company.

    Fyrinnae ( review | shop )
Fyrinnae are true innovators in the indie beauty community. Their shadows are extremely complex, and they offer excellent powders, primers, and the acclaimed “Pixie Epoxy” eyeshadow adhesive/foiling base. Response to customer inquiries is very prompt, and turnaround time is amazing, considering the brand’s popularity. One pitfall to the company that some have noticed is a generally horrific attitude – and this element has prevented me from continuing to do business here.

High Voltage Cosmetics ( review )
The star rating on this company is quite a shame, because they offer fantastic products. Their eyeshadows are complex and creamy, and their lip products are raved over around the beauty blogosphere. However, business practices and the honesty of the company’s owner have come under fire. No statement was ever made by the company owner – the store was closed quickly without a word.

    Linnaeus Cosmetics ( review | shop )
Marin has a passion for not only her business, but the critters which inspire her creations. Her pride shows in her work. Some shadows can be a bit tricky to work with, but otherwise they are smooth and long lasting.

Madd Style Cosmetics ( review | swatches | shop )
Madd Style Cosmetics is one of those brands with a huge following, and it is well earned. Eyeshadows are rich and shimmery, and the lip bombs are positively raveworthy. Shipping can take a while, but customer service is spot-on.

    PurpleCat Creatives/PCApothecary ( review | shop )
Deliciously rich fragrances with thick, skin-nourishing formula, PCApothecary blends high quality ingredients with stylish packaging, and incredibly fast TAT. I highly recommend trying Raven’s Blend and Pumpkin Macchiatto.

    RockABetty Beauty ( review 1 | review 2 | shop )
Shadows are soft and true to colour, but can apply somewhat dusty and sheer, requiring some building. Deceptively complex with intense frosty glow. Shades to check out: Nutella Whore, Wendigo, Betty Vidi Vici, and Beware Falling Houses. Pinup Complexion Enhancers are an absolute must, as well as Happy Chappy.

    Sugarpill Cosmetics ( review 1 | shop )
Amy (Shrinkle) is a true perfectionist, and has worked on this line for years before its launch. The pressed shadows are highly pigmented, and the Chromalust loose shadows are buttery smooth and extremely complex. The presentation of this brand is nothing less than stunning. The Sweetheart Palette is a must for any beauty collection.
