• Shop ALL the Rite Aids!

I don’t really brag about my hauls on here unless I know I got a slammin’ deal. Today is just going to be one of those days. Bear with me, folks!

First off, Rite Aid is having a sale on all Revlon eye cosmetics, including the new Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow quad, which regularly retails at $7.49. Less 40% off comes to $4.49. Smack a $2 off Video Value coupon on top of it, and you’re talking about a fresh-on-the-market eyeshadow quad for two-fifty.

Next, I move to N.Y.C., which while it isn’t on sale, is part of a special deal where any single piece $1.99 or over earns you $1 back in +UP Rewards, which is essentially a coupon good towards your next purchase. I bought four of these, rolling my coupons on to other purchases.

They’re also running a sale on all Wet n’ Wild cosmetics – 40% off. Now, I needed some new eye makeup remover after I dropped my last bottle in the loo and was terrified of it even after I immediately threw it away. Nothing haunts your dreams more than eye things that have been in the toilet. So yes, check, we pick up some new eye makeup remover, for a sweet $1.19. Then we amble over to the Megashield Lip Color SPF15, which generally retails for $2.99 per piece. This is also included in the 40% off sale, plus each piece has a $1 off coupon on it, bringing the price down to just $0.79 per lipstick. I used three of my four +UP coupons on these, which means I only paid $0.04 for each lipstick before tax.

We round out our trip with a Physician’s Formula blush, already clearanced at 75% off of the original $11.95 price tag, and used my final +UP coupon, bringing it down to just $1.98. Score.

Grand total for this drugstore spree, tax included, came up to $15.21, for a total savings of $26.51. I did wind up going to three different stores – the first one did not have the Wet n Wild Megashield lipsticks, and I simply wanted to see if the last store would have anything the first two didn’t (which is where I found the blush). I consider the store-jumping to be pretty well worth it, though. Especially considering none of the locations were too far out of my way.

These sales are still good tonight and tomorrow, so if you’re jonesin’ for some new eyeshadow, or want to stock up on some new lipsticks, you know where to go!

  • Urban Decay: A Tale of Love, Loss, and Glitter

Oh hai, folks! Been a while, thanks largely to the fact that I’ve been breaking my back at work. Retail during the holiday season? Get out of town, man. Now that all that madness is over, I have a stack of items to get swatched and reviewed for this here bloggity-diddlyo. But first, a tale of love, loss, and glitter!

It begins at Ulta, where I am returning a single eyeshadow of which I have multiple duplicates in palettes. I receive a nice chunk of store credit, so I amble over to the Urban Decay aisle to have a quick look before work. Here is where I meet a lovely Urban Decay artist, Andrew. He asks what sort of thing I’m looking for, to which I quite honestly say that I’m open for anything, as I’ll wear just about anything. He then has me park up on his little chair, and he goes to work demonstrating some of Urban Decay’s line. While I’m no stranger to the line – it is, after all, my favourite – there are still quite a few products I haven’t tried. Especially their brushes, which after getting that work-over, I am absolutely in love with. So soft, they are.

We get finished up, and I have to rush off to work. I was three minutes late, but it was worth it – everyone raved about the work he did. As soon as I walk in the door, however, I realize that things look… odd. A split second later, I realize I left my glasses at Ulta. I go back into the back room, grab a phone book, squinting with crossed eyes trying to find the number for Ulta, only finding the number for the old store and not the new store. Well, crap. I’ll just have to hope that someone finds them and puts them back so I can pick them up the next day, right? Well, no. Andrew found my glasses, and hoofed it all the way down to my store to drop them off for me. Give that man hugs and cookies!

End point? Urban Decay, and their people, are awesome. I really wish I could post a picture of his work, but by the time I got home, it was a bit jacked. Floorsets aren’t the best activities for full makeup, unless you’re wearing some serious sweat-proof products. I did snap a shot to keep for myself, but I don’t want to misrepresent his work. It was quite lovely, though, I can tell you!

TL:DR? You’ll Want To Read This:

Now, while we’re on the subject of Urban Decay, it might serve you well to know that the Book of Shadows IV is on sale at Ulta ($44) and the official Urban Decay website ($44 with free shipping). Sound good? It can get better: enter code MYGLAM11 at checkout, and your BOS4 drops another $15 (as of this writing). This cancels out the free shipping, but it does save you nine more bucks in the long run (or, you can buy six bucks worth of extra product, and get your free shipping back – Santa Tanita, anyone?). Either way you slice it, that’s a pretty great deal. I picked mine up at Ulta today with my store credit. Mmhm!

  • Urban Decay Friends & Family Haul

And the award for fastest shipping goes to Urban Decay. The Friends & Family Sale at Urban Decay just started November 1st, and I made my order very, very late in the day. It was shipped the very next day, and arrived today, on November 4th. I’m really quite stunned.

Anywho, here’s what I picked up at 20% off:

Yes, even sale items included in the 20% off sale, so I used those to bring my order up to an even $50, as to qualify for free shipping. Not too shabby, if you ask me.

The Friends and Family sale is STILL ON, right now! Use code FFHOLIDAY11 to receive 20% off of your order until 11:59PM 11/05/11. If you haven’t already snagged the Anniversary palette, now would be a great time!

  • Spied Sales and Team Pink Eye!

Holla, coloristas! Popping in briefly to mention that, as I was rollin’ around the drugstore circuit, I noticed that C. Booth is BOGO-HALF right now. Why am I even bothering to mention this? Because C. Booth is phenomenal and wonderful and just plain great. Plus, they’re extremely budget friendly to begin with. Now, sadly, Rite Aid doesn’t have much of an online store, so if you’re not near one… I cry for you. But if you are, I’d recommend the Lavender Mineral Bath Soak and the Honey & Almond Body Butter. With the discount, these will only put you back $9.

Finally, if you haven’t noticed, Bath & Body Works are also having their Fall Clearance. All Halloween gear has been slashed half-off (so if you’ve been eyeing any of the luminaries, grab them now!), along with home fragrance, select lipglosses, and select accessories. Some gift sets have been marked 25% off, and the Citrus Collection from this past summer is sliding in at a whopping 75% off! While I wasn’t too crazy about any of the citrus fragrances, I did stock up on the Pomegranate Citrus Sugar Scrub. I mean, $3.50 for a good sugar scrub? I don’t care what it smells like at that point. Especially considering how nice, scrubby, and moisturizing the Bath & Body Works “Supercharged” formula is.

As for the rest of life, things are still hectic at school and work, but my random blabbing will make a brief resurgence here on the blog, as I am participating in Team Pink Eye. What the fuzzy hell is that? Well, in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a few of us in the beauty blogosphere have teamed up with indie beauty companies to raise money for the Susan G Komen foundation. The entire month of October will be peppered with massive amounts of giveaways, and pink-inspired looks. It’s gonna be fun – for a cause!

There are still a few hours to enter this week’s giveaways. To check out the bloggers participating in giveaways and looks this week, check out the Team Pink Eye Blog!

  • Still Alive and Mini Haul!

Hey guys, I’m still alive! Just popping in to let you all know that Too Faced Shadow Insurance is $9 at your local Ulta. It’s all sold out online, so if you don’t have a store nearby… I cry for you.

I did manage to swing by one of my Ulta stores, and also used my reward coupon for some goodies.

I managed to mack China Glaze “Emerald Fitzgerald” for just $3, the TFSI for $9, the Essence Gel Eyeliner Brush for $1.50, and a free pack of Olay face cloths. So… yes, over half off for all that. Not too shabby!
